Bitcoin is gaining acceptance not only among consumers but also with retailers in countries all over the world. Data collected from coinmap.org reveals Romania is one example which has 47 vendors in 17 localities who accept Bitcoin transactions, most being in the vicinity of Bucharest.

Google is now accepting crypto advertising once more. Or anyway, it's showing the adverts of giant Coinbase. This action immediately comes two days after Coinbase's adverts resurfaced on Facebook.

The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported on May 18, that two major cryptocurrency market players, Coinbase Inc. and ivyKoin, have tried to talk with the government regulators about getting banking licenses in order to expand the range of products they can offer.

A claim by Wikileak’s official online store states that its account with Coinbase was suspended by the cryptocurrency exchange. In 2016, Wikileaks was central to a long string of international scandals before the presidential election according to the leaked document depository and it is now calling for a boycott of coinbase. Coinbase says that its primary goal is to make digital currency safe and secure for its customers.

A popular discussion medium and social platform for the cryptocurrency market - Reddit has recently confirmed that it will not accept bitcoin payments for obtaining a premium membership. The platform may have disabled this option because of the change in Coinbase payment construction.

On February 26, the Bitcoin exchange rate climbed up to the approximately $10,300 mark, meaning an increase of near $900, or about 10% over 24 hours on one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges, Coinbase.

Following this update there was a nearly immediate spike in the value which soared to almost $4,000 dollars while Bitcoin Core (BTC) dropped around 10%. This scenario highlights how volatile the industry can be and how quickly a currency can rise when promoted correctly.

The Coinbase cryptocurrency exchange has decided to work on adding support for bitcoin cash (BCH) by January 1, 2018. A similar announcement was made by the GDAX (Global Digital Asset Exchange) exchange.

By the end of the week, the prices of most popular cryptocurrencies, like Bitcoin and Ethereum, had been driven down by corrections. However, Litecoin (LTC) managed to jump to new all-time heights and may be easily considered as an even more profitable investment cryptocurrency than Bitcoin and Ethereum.
