Bill Gates had claimed on a talk program arranged by CNBC that he would bet against bitcoin if he could. The co-founder of a crypto exchange, Tyler Winklevoss, responded to that statement on Twitter, explaining what Microsoft’s co-founder could do to short bitcoin.

San Francisco giant banks and other financial institutions have tried to keep away from scandal-tainted virtual currency bitcoin. The financial giants will start trading bitcoin futures for clients instead of buying and selling actual cryptocurrency, but that may come in future.

Cboe Global Markets, Inc. (Cboe), one of the largest exchanges in the world, urged in a letter the U.S. Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) to clear the way for Bitcoin exchange-traded-funds (ETFs) which are trying to join the financial market.  

With Bitcoin futures newly-introduced to the derivatives industry, online traders can soon look forward to accessing Bitcoin futures and options market on the world’s first consistent Bitcoin denominated derivatives online platform – Quedex.

The futures markets are in full swing and price action on the Bitcoin trade has garnered a tremendous amount of activity over the past few weeks. The transaction memory pool has become filled with outstanding transactions to confirm. The average amount of transactions per block is close to an all time high. Bitcoins market dominance has dropped from a recent high on December 7th of 64% to now treading above 50% as the altcoin market has exploded this past week.

The launch of CBOE’s futures made the Bitcoin price skyrocket to another all-time high of over $17,700. However, a couple of hours later we have seen a pullback. The price of BTC at the time of writing is $16,964.

Some might think Monday is a tough day, but not for Bitcoin, as it has broken through a new all-time high of $17,000.

The upsurge of BTC price goes on. Bitcoin rated $13,200 on CoinMarketCap. This has probably become possible owing to CBOE’s and Gemini’s listing of bitcoin futures.

On Monday, November 27, Bitcoin has gone too far, touching another all-time high at $9,640. And it looks like it’s not the end.
