Do you want to live in a Sci-Fi movie?

As COVID-19 is raging over the entire planet and people are forced to isolate themselves in order not to catch the disease or contaminate others, the issue of communication and socialization becomes more and more urgent.

Can you imagine yourself living in a world similar to that described in a Ready Player One movie when virtual reality is brighter than real life? It might actually be not that impossible as it seems. And a shift might happen much faster than we think thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic.

People have the critical need to socialize, except for some separate individuals with a high level of introversion who are perfectly fine with isolation. The lack of communication can cause serious and sometimes irreversible mental disorders. That is why society pays closer attention to virtual means of communication, which can be a fair substitute to live conversations.

Virtual reality is actively developing in the computer games industry. There is equipment allowing the maximum sense of presence. People can play, watch movies and even travel without actually leaving their homes.

Cryptocurrency Community Turns to VR After Most Events Cancelled

After the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, most blockchain and cryptocurrency events were cancelled. Coinidol.com, a world blockchain news outlet, has reported that at least one person got infected during ETHLondon event. At least six people had COVID-19 after the Ethereum Community Conference in Paris.

This has caused community players to search for ways of minimizing physical contacts but still stay in touch, as networking and cooperation is very important in this industry. As blockchain and cryptocurrency startups mostly deal with digital technologies, their efforts to switch to virtual reality seem only natural.

Thus, Consensus2020 will become virtual. Lightning Loop and Socratic Seminar will also gather their participants online. Most event organizers strive to provide the cryptocurrency community to educate, grow and develop the possibilities for networking without the need to leave home and face the danger of getting infected.

Who knows, maybe this is the beginning of a switch to a new reality and lifestyle? What do you think? Let us know in the comments below!
