Mastercard has joined the world’s fintech movement, filing a patent for a blockchain technology system. The US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) released an application stating this fact on April 12. Blockchain is seen as a key factor for safeguarding customers’ personal data.

A recent patent filed by Lenovo implies that the Chinese technology company will be able to include blockchain tech in a system that verifies the validity of physical documents. The blockchain tech will work as a verification program for the authenticity of physical documents, building a digital map of the document, undersigned with a digital signature.

The American multinational retailing giant, Walmart, has filed a patent application with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for a new Blockchain-based delivery management system that would use drones.

A new technology called RAIDA (Redundant Array of Independent Detection Agents), used to detect the authenticity of a new cloud-based cryptocurrency – CloudCoin, has received a provisional patent in the US, and now aims to challenge the technology standing behind Bitcoin.
