Samsung expands cryptocurrency support

Global tech bulls have been partnering with cryptoasset platforms to offer the community with the fringe use cases of DLT. Now, Stellar has also jumped onto the bandwagon as Samsung included the coin in its crypto wallet.

The integration of Stellar-powered tools and apps into the Samsung Blockchain KeyStore (SBK) enables consumers to reliably store passwords on Galaxy phones. Some of the smartphones where XLM has been supported include Galaxy Note 10 Series, Galaxy Fold, Galaxy S10 series, Galaxy Z Flip, and Galaxy S20 Series.

At the moment, Samsung is working round-the-clock to advance the interconnect system experience for users by collaborating with decentralized applications (DApps) designers who have put up on the DLT-based system and fused the apt SDKs into their apps to use the SBK and the integration in their applications. The electronic giant has been trying to enrol, train, onboard, and back up creators in the DLT field.

The addition of Stellar, a distributed system for monetary tools and services, on SBK means a lot for consumers. With this major integration, the two have opened up to a novel system of consumers that can make use of the joint novelty of the two firms. A lot of Stellar-powered dealings will be attracted and motivated to embrace the basic SDKs to put their app products available in the SBK, such as Noodle, DSTOQ, Litemint, SatoshiPay, etc.

Developing blockchain and cryptocurrency phones

Stellar is yet just another digital currency supported by Samsung handsets. In February 2020, the firm launched a processor in its Galaxy S20 series having the ability to work with passwords to DLT wallets. According to CoinIdol, a world blockchain news outlet, this built-in wallet allows its users to store coins that support the ERC-20 protocol. The same handset series have got a storage feature for BTC and Ether.

Samsung also added TRON (TRX) tokens to its KeyStore in October 2019, a move that saw the value of TRX surge by 50% a few days after its addition. Generally, the Korean conglomerate currently supports more than 9 tokens. Besides the aforementioned tokens, some other supported tokens include Binance Coin, Pundi X – NPXS, ztum, Kyber Network, KuCoin Shares, NPXSXEM, and NEM.
