Mail.Ru accepting cryptocurrencies

Russia’s largest Internet corporation known as Mail.Ru Group began to take digital currency as a source of payment for the service of putting various ads on its social platforms, such as VKontakte, Odnoklassniki, and the email system Mail.Ru, according to the company’s press release.

According to the reports the company’s representatives stated:

“On the advertising platform myTarget one can pay in Bitcoin (BTC) or Bitcoin Cash (BCC) for making advertisements on all the projects owned by Mail.Ru Group and in the partner network, and the owners of sites and applications participating in the network in the near future will be able to receive income in the cryptocurrency.”

The company uses global bitcoin payment service provider BitPay for performing transactions in virtual coins via international system My.com. BitPay cooperates with almost 50,000 business ventures on the financial market today, including PayPal, Microsoft, Virgin Galactic and Zynga. The American fintech payment provider converts trading coins into cash and takes the exposure for the service.

As the First Deputy Director General of Mail.Ru Group Dmitry Sergeev explained, the myTarget platform will become a launching pad for the creation and development of a business ecosystem and will contain other products of Mail.Ru Group, including game projects.
