Swissquote, the Swiss leader in online banking, listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange, has announced the launch of a Bitcoin trading service.
Swissquote announced its partnership with Europe’s first licensed digital currency exchange, Bitstamp, to offer BTC trading with EUR and USD on its platform. Now, Bitstamp is providing a full-stack solution for all of Swissquote's requirements.
Marc Bürki, CEO of Swissquote, stated:
"This is our first foray into the world of bitcoin, and so we wanted to work with a partner we could rely on. Bitstamp's focus on regulation and compliance, as well as its payment institution licence, made it the standout choice for our needs."
According to the announcement, in the future, both companies plan to expand their partnership as Bitstamp brings Swissquote's range of services closer to its customers.
Swissquote Group is the leading provider of online financial and trading services in Switzerland and has its headquarters in Gland and offices in Zürich, Bern, Dubai, Malta, Hong Kong and London.
Last week, another Swiss bank announced a new offer of Bitcoin-related services. Falcon Group Bank, a Swiss private bank with 50 years of expertise in wealth management, has become the first of Switzerland‘s bank to offer a new feature of blockchain asset management, including Bitcoin, to its clients.
