Apple announced the update for its iOS 10 mobile operating system and iMessages that will include the Circle payments app, this may also mean a potential integration of Bitcoin payments along with fiat via the Circle pay app system.
The premiere of a whole new iOS 10 operating system is scheduled today for users in the US.
According to a report by South China Morning Post, Jeremy Allaire, CEO and founder of Circle, says adding payments to iMessages would make it more convenient for users. He stated:
“There’s a hurdle to have to install a smartphone app so that I can pay my buddy and all the inputting and set up. To do it all within the iMessages app is a lot easier.”
Adding the Circle payments app means that users will be able to send both fiat – USD, GBP and EUR – and cryptocurrency like Bitcoin to another phone or service. Circle is one of the leading Bitcoin and P2P payment companies.
However, there are no official statement or details on Bitcoin payments in iMessage. More updates are coming soon.
