VANCOUVER, BC (Release date) AdMark Technologies, publisher of cryptocurrency information site CoinIQ, invites essay submissions for the CoinIQ Future of Cryptocurrency Scholarship. This contest will let students in Canada and the United States shape the conversation about digital currency and its role in our lives.
“Cryptocurrency has the potential to transform society, but the generation this transformation will affect the most often goes unheard,” said CoinIQ Editor-in-Chief Thenuka Karunaratne. “CoinIQ wants to give high school and university students more opportunities to advance their thought leadership in the cryptocurrency community.”
Satoshi Nakamoto first published his description of a peer-to-peer electronic cash system ten years ago. Mainstream society is still coming to terms with cryptocurrency in ways the first readers of Nakamoto’s paper would never have expected. From the fitful pace of cryptocurrency regulation to the first steps and missteps of celebrity cryptocurrency endorsements, the awareness of cryptocurrency and its potential effects are only now seeping into the public consciousness.
Over the next decade, today’s high school and university students will graduate into a world transformed by cryptocurrencies. This year’s CoinIQ Future of Cryptocurrency Scholarship lets tomorrow’s thought leaders shape that future by answering the question:
“What role will cryptocurrency play in society, 5 years from now?”
The student who submits the most creative, original and articulate answer to this question will win a $1,000 scholarship, publication of their essay on CoinIQ.com and a featured CoinIQ interview about their vision of our cryptocurrency future. The first and second runners up will receive $500 and $250, respectively.
“The cryptocurrency ecosystem is still in its nascent stages,” Karunaratne said. “Young thought leaders have just as much of an opportunity to shape its evolution as seasoned industry veterans. Everyone at CoinIQ looks forward to our scholarship applicants’ fresh take on the future of cryptocurrency.”
Students presently enrolled in a high school or university in the United States or Canada may enter the competition by submitting an original, 500-word essay by August 31, 2018. You may visit the CoinIQ Future of Cryptocurrency Scholarship site for contest rules and more information.
