PodMiners, an Indian tech startup is developing a global blockchain platform for digital radio and podcasting. As per the information, this blockchain platform is focused on promoting the freedom of speech for independent media, publishers, and audio content creators worldwide. It can be called “Youtube” for podcasting and radio industry.

While various tech giants are shifting toward the blockchain industry, PodMiners also started it’s platform development in 2018 and released the beta version recently in May 2019. The platform claims to offer its services free of cost for the creators. The aim is to provide a quality and central platform for content creators, consumers and advertisers globally.

There's explosive growth in podcast creators as well as listeners since last 12 years. As of June 2019, there are more than 750,000 podcasts and over 30 million episodes. The numbers are rising with every passing week. Due to easy consumption, a huge growth of approx 67 Million podcast listeners was reported in 2017. As per the CEO, Avinash Chauhan “Radio industry is struggling a lot because everything is going digital and no-one has ever worked on a real solution for the Radio industry. Whoever is there in the podcast market are just trying to steal profits without working across any real solution to the major problems. On the other side, we are the only team building a global platform for this industry. PodMiners ensures every possible contribution to make this industry flourish again.”

By implementing blockchain technology PodMiners is working to resolve the current major problems in digital radio & podcasting industry, like discoverability, monetization, on-time payments, micropayments, fake reviews, and security. Current features allow its users to go live, make & receive calls and interact with the audience. There's no need to attach any extra hardware as the advanced switchboard design makes it easy to manage the show.

The platform will soon introduce a new feature where podcasters will be able to test their voice before going live. It will help them adjusting and improving their pitch, PodMiners team is working to integrate tools where a host can record, edit and manage the audio files or any special effects that they want to use in the background.

The blockchain technology is highly secure that let people share their content with high security and without any manipulation. Integration of blockchain on PodMiners will cut down the major existing barriers and will make podcasting smooth for content creators and let listeners enjoy better quality content globally.

PodMiners is working to have a transparent advertisement model empowered by blockchain technology which will eliminate the current advertisement frauds and will be a game changer.

To make this action-packed plan work, PodMiners is planning to raise funds through ICO that will help the platform with further development and managing its ongoing operations. However, no official announcement has been made by the PodMiners yet.

Now it will be interesting to see how this rolls out for PodMiners.
