The Bitcoin’s mempool workload reached the historic highs the past day. According to blockchain.info, the number of unconfirmed bitcoin transactions exceeded to nearly 92 000 operations. Over time the number of applications significantly decreased, but the network may still have the transactions in delay. Recall the last month the similar wave of unconfirmed transactions had happened - thereat it was caused by a massive spam attack.

Ant Financial will invest in Kakao Pay

Chinese FinTech company Ant Financial will invest $200 million in South Korean messaging platform Kakao Pay. Ant Financial announced that investment will be a part of a ‘larger strategic partnership agreement’ and Kakao Pay will gain access to Ant Financial’s Alipay platform, allowing users of both platforms to use each other’s services. Douglas Feagin, President of Ant Financial said: «South Korea is an important market for Ant Financial, and we see many opportunities in the market for innovation services and growth in mobile payments».

FinTech in Asia gets a record funding

FinTech startups in Asia to get a record funding. According to data from venture capital research firm CBInsights, Asia took nearly 20 percent in the number of Fintech investments worldwide. The main reason of increasing in the volume and value of investments is the money in the Asian Fintech sector from major Chinese companies. Asian Fintech startups gained a record of $5.4 billion in venture-capital funding last year. The bigger investment comes despite a global downturn in venture capital investments in 2017.
